Many American adults remember exactly
where they were and what they were doing on September
11, 2001. I was in Ft. Collins, Co. preparing to
teach the first day of a three day XML for Non-Programmers
class at Hewlett-Packard. While getting dressed in my hotel room, I
saw the smoke billowing from the first World Trade
Center tower. Having lived in New York City for
ten years, I assumed that a small plane had wandered
off course and accidentally smashed into the tower.
I sat down on my bed and waited for an explanation
from the live CNN news coverage.
When I saw the second plane crash into the second
tower, I sat speechless and horrified because I knew
something unspeakable had just occurred. The events
that followed changed my life and my career.

Fast Forward 2001 - 2010

The post 911 events, including
the decline of high-tech Silicon Valley businesses
and the closing of many corporate universities
led me to an unexpected
semi-retirement in Palm Springs, CA.
The extra time provided freedom
to write a 600 plus page book, published
by Labyrinth
in March, 2005.
